Years ago, when I first watched a video featuring a hydrofoil, I instantly became obsessed. I had to have one. What prevented me from immediately flying on that magic carpet of air and water? One simple word: COST. My pockets had holes in them, not cash. This set me out on a journey to build myself my own ride. Weeks of research, followed by months of trial and error, rendered me a functioning foil. The following year, I learned to kite-board, and that is when the heavenly combination of a hydrofoil and a kite came to be. While everyone else was grounded on the beach, I was ripping across the horizon silently and effortlessly. With a passion for hydrofoils, I designed some improvements and built my second version, and then a third, a fourth, a fifth, and I'm still going. Before I began, a lot of people said a foil made out of wood could not work. Now, after meticulous trial and error, I have a design that performs to all my expectations. With so many old hydrofoil prototypes laying around, I decided to sell them for others to use. To my surprise, I quickly had a lot of people wondering how I had built such a simple foil. To help others build their dream foil, I took my foil design and turned it into the world's first hydrofoil kit. Simple, affordable, and 100% customizable was the goal, and it has been achieved. It is incredible to receive pictures and videos of some customers' projects gliding through the water. The story, however, does not end here. Constant improvements and new designs are crucial to keep this experience new and exciting. Now that you know a little bit of my story, I hope you will roll up your sleeves and build your own.
